Carroll College softball program loads up on academic honors

HELENA — Carroll College’s softball team and 11 individuals earned recognition on the 2018 Easton/NFCA Academic award lists.

The Saints were one of 36 NAIA teams to earn the honor. They had the 19th best GPA in the NAIA with a 3.426 average. Carroll was the only Cascade Collegiate Conference member to make the list.

Anna ApRoberts, Allison Bayer, Ashley Davis, Tess Eaton, Natalie Gaber, Brittany Hogan, Katie Juisman, Kaylin Kenney, Kendall Mooney, TJ Rucker and Brittany Smith were all selected as Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar-Athletes.

To earn the honor, an athlete must carry a 3.5 GPA or better.

The Saints were led by ApRoberts’ 3.84 GPA.

The Saints improved this past year. In 2017, the Saints had only seven individuals make the list and a team GPA of 3.235.
