Carroll men roll past Montana Western

DILLON — No. 3 Carroll College built an 18-point halftime lead over Montana Western on its way to a 91-78 Frontier Conference win in Dillon on Saturday night.

The Fighting Saints shot the lights out in the first half, making 19-of-30 shots and 6 of 12 from downtown. The Carroll defense complemented the offense in the first half, holding Western to 36.4 percent shooting.

Carroll led wire-to-wire and had its lead as large as 28 points early in the second half. Western responded in the final 14 minutes and outscored Carroll 51-46 in the second half.

Match Burnham had 23 points to lead Carroll. The Saints had four players in double figures, as Matt Wyman added 18, Dane Warp scored 15 and Ife Kalejaiye finished with 11. Carroll also outrebounded Western 37-23.

Carroll improves to 16-2 (5-1 Frontier Conference), while Western sits at the bottom of the conference at 7-9 (1-4).
