HELENA, Mont. – Carroll College women’s basketball coach Rachelle Sayers announced the addition of Alexandria Williams of Las Vegas, Nevada to the 2018-19 basketball squad.
Williams, a 5-10 guard/forward, comes to Carroll from Chapparel High School where she was a standout basketball and volleyball player and a strong student-athlete.
“We are excited that Alex has chosen to come to Carroll College,” Sayer said. “She is a third-generation Saint and I believe this has been a dream of hers for a long time. We are very excited for our team and as well as for her and her family. She is a great student, leader, and athlete. She was an extremely impactful student-athlete in her high school and we look for her to have the same impact here at Carroll College.”
Williams led her team to back-to-back 3A Sunrise Division Championship in 2014-15 and 2015-16. She was a Max Preps Player of the Year for 2017-18 and a Wendy’s High School Heisman Winner in 2017-18.
She was an all-conference honoree in basketball and volleyball for 2017 and 2018.
Academically, she carries a 4.025 GPA and earned scholar-athlete honors all four years.
She has lettered in basketball, volleyball, track and swimming during her high school career.
Williams was named the Nevada Native American Youth Ambassador by Governor Brian Sandovol and the Nevada Indian Commission. She was also appointed to as the White House Tribal Youth Leader by President Barack Obama in 2016
She will join a Saints team that won the first Frontier Conference title since 2007 and advanced to the round of 16 in the NAIA Championship.
