HELENA – Carroll College track and field swept the Frontier Conference track and field Athlete of the Week Honors after a strong showing at the University of Montana Tom Gage Classic in Missoula.

Rhiannon Sturgess was named the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, Hannah Porch the Frontier Field Athlete of the Week, Jack Dunley the Frontier Men’s Track Athlete of the Week and Keaton Brady the Frontier Field Athlete of the Week.

Sturgess topped the 400-meter hurdle field by more nearly two seconds to earn a first-place finish. She jumped from ninth in the NAIA to third with a PR time of 1:01.57.

Porch hit a new PR with a long jump of 19-feet-0.5 to win the long jump over athletes from three different NCAA DI schools. She is now ranked 14th in the NAIA. She also won the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash and hit the NAIA B qualifying standard in the 200.

Dunley edged out Montana State’s Cameron Carroll by 1/100th of a second to take the title in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:52.72, a new personal best and the eighth-ranked time in the NAIA.

Brady finished second by misses in the pole vault with a jump of 15-feet-11, just missing qualifying standard of 14-feet-11, just missing the NAIA qualifying standard of 15-feet-1.

The Saints close out the regular-season with the Providence Open at the new track at Memorial Stadium in Great Falls.
