Cascade Conference softball tournament schedule announced; Carroll to face Oregon Tech

LA GRANDE, Ore. – The qualifiers for the 2018 Cascade Collegiate Conference softball Tournament, presented by U.S. Bank, have been announced by the conference office. The tournament, May 4-6, will feature the top six teams from the regular season standings and will be hosted by Southern Oregon University. Seeding was based on the regular season finish.

As the outright regular season champion and the No. 1 seed SOU secured the first of two AQ’s to the NAIA National Tournament. The Raiders finished CCC action 22-5.

Corban and Oregon Tech finished CCC play with 21-6 records but Corban secured the No. 2 seed in head to head competition defeating OIT, the No. 3 seed 2-1 in conference counters. Eastern Oregon finished the season at 15-12 and will be the No. 4 seed. British Columbia and Carroll College both had 14-13 CCC records but UBC earned the No. 5 seed with a 2-1 record vs. the Saints in conference counting games.

The 2nd automatic qualifier to the NAIA National Tournament will be awarded to the CCC Tournament Champion. If the tournament champion is also regular season champion Southern Oregon, the 2nd AQ shall go to the runner-up in the tournament.

#4 Eastern Oregon vs. #5 British Columbia- 9 a.m.
#3 Oregon Tech vs # 6 Carroll College- 11:30 a.m.
#1 Southern Oregon vs. winner of game 1- 2 p.m.
#2 Corban vs. winner of game 2 – 4:30 p.m.

Saturday May 5
Game 5 @ 9:00 a.m. – Loser game 2 vs. Loser of game 3 (loser eliminated)
Game 6 @ 11:30 a.m. –Loser of game 1 vs. Loser of game 4 (loser eliminated)
Game 7 @ 2:00 p.m. – Winner game 3 vs. Winner Game 4
Game 8 @ 4:30 p.m. – Winner Game 5 vs. Winner Game 6 (loser eliminated)

Sunday May 6
Game 9 @ 11:00 a.m. – Loser Game 7 vs. Winner Game 8 (loser eliminated)
Game 10 @ 1:30 p.m. – Winner Game 7 vs. Winner Game 9 (championship)
Game 11 thirty minutes after completion of Game 10 if necessary

Monday May 7
Designated as makeup day if needed
