Carroll College softball is postseason bound

HELENA -The Carroll College softball team starts their final homestand of the regular season Friday against Corbin University, but they are far from done with the season.

That’s because the Saints have secured themselves a spot in the Cascade Conference Tournament with some help from Northwest Christian beating College of Idaho. The team is more than excited about going dancing this year, but know they still have a lot of room for improvement after dropping two against Southern Oregon last weekend.

“It relieves a lot pressure for this weekend,” said senior Brittany Hogan. “We can just go out and play our game and do what we do. And just kind of, just take the atmosphere we’re going to be in. Just roll with it. Whatever is going to happen is going to happen. Knowing that we have a spot, it’s pretty relieving.”

“Offensively we just had to be a little better,” added head coach Aaron Jackson. “We had some opportunities to drive in some runs. And you know, the combination of them making some great plays and us just not executing. So offensively we’re just going to be a little bit better this week and continue to pitch well and play great defense, and we should be right in it.”

Carroll plays a pair of games against Corbin University Friday in Helena at 2:00/4:00.
