GREAT FALLS, Mont. – A local gamer has become the first official recruit to sign a letter of intent with the new University of Providence eSports program. Logan Stene, a Great Falls, Montana native who is set to graduate from Great Falls CMR High School will join the program on its League of Legends team.

“This has been a very special moment for the program, especially having our first signee be a local student that we can keep close to home,” UP Head Coach Aaron Stucker said. “Logan sets the tone for our incoming class and we look forward to his contributions as an Argo for the next four years.”

While Stene is the program’s first official recruit, he isn’t the only player on the roster, with UP returning a number of players who were members of varsity program’s predecessor club program. Stene will join the team primarily playing top and jungle roles, which fills a need on the current roster.

“He is very smart and versatile and can play a number of roles and styles,” Stucker said. “That makes not only his character invaluable to us, but his skill set as well.”

The former CMR Rustler plans on being a business major at UP.
