Providence wrestling signs two

GREAT FALLS — The University of Providence wrestling team has signed two more members to the 2018 recruiting class; Travis Tomei from Great Falls High School and AJ Hoggatt from Kelso High School in Washington. The two wrestlers will join the Argos Family in the Fall Semester of 2018.

Tomei will continue the pipeline of Great Falls High school recruits to become Argos. He joins current teammate Russell Wienholz as a member of the 2019 recruiting class, and next year will be one of six former Bison on the Argo roster. He was a winner of the Coaches Award at the Great Falls High program. He was voted most inspirational wrestler by his team members, was a two-time state qualifier, an academic All-State Wrestler, and carried a 3.6 GPA through high school. Another honor he brings into his college career is being a four-time iron-man winner. This award is given to members of the Great Falls High team who do not miss any practices in the wrestling season. He ended his high school career at the 170-pound weight class.

Hoggatt was a four-time varsity wrestler and football player at Kelso High School and competed in Baseball his Freshman year and Track his Sophomore year. He was a four-time recipient of the GSHL Scholar Athlete Award and carried a 3.9 GPA through high school. He qualified for the state tournament all four years and placed third at state his senior year. Hoggatt was also awarded the team Coaches Award for three years. Hoggatt closed off his wrestling career at the 182-pound weight class.
