PITTSBURGH, Kan. – Isaac Petsch of the Rocky Mountain College track & field team secured Rocky two points in the overall team standings with his seventh-place finish in the finals of the Men’s Mile at the NAIA Indoor National Track and Field Championships on Saturday morning.
Petsch finished the final with a time of 4:13.82 to earn an All-American plaque in the event. It is the first individual All-American honor for the sophomore after he earned a plaque as part of the Rocky 4×400 Meter Relay team in 2017.
Petsch qualified for the finals with his time of 4:14.39 during Friday’s preliminaries. He finished third in his heat to with the eighth-fastest time of the prelims.
Rocky’s Distance Medley team of Shane Ketchum, Brenden Leaming, Gino Giovagnoli and Petsch finished 14th during Thursday’s prelims after finishing the race in 10:59.03.
