DILLON — When Montana Western and Lewis and Clark State link up, they tend to put on a show. Friday’s Frontier Conference Playoff Semifinal was no different, as the teams combined for 176 points, but the Bulldogs emerged 91-85 victors.

The two teams fought closely throughout both halves, with Warren Helligar providing the early spark for Western. He scored 12 of his team’s first 19 points and would finish with 14 for the game. Helligar was one of five Bulldogs to score in double figures, with Kooper Kidgell’s 21 leading the way. Kidgell, Dom Robinson, and Brandon Jones combined for 57 points.

Western improves to 25-6 with the win and will face Carroll College in Helena on Monday for the conference title. The Saints have won two of the teams’ three meetings this season.
