DILLON — It was hard to tell the difference between the Frontier Conference’s number two and number seven seeds in Dillon on Wednesday night, Montana Western’s Brianna King made it a little more obvious, scoring 29 points to lead her Bulldogs to a 70-62 win over Montana State-Northern.

The nation’s 12th-leading scorer shot 9-of-18 from the field, making three three-pointers. She also shot 8-of-9 from the free throw line, leading all players in each category.

The box score was even in most categories, but Western had a sizeable advantage in the turnover department, coughing the ball up just eight times on the night, compared to the Lights’ 14.

Montana State-Northern’s season comes to an end, but the nation’s 15th-ranked Bulldogs advance to the Frontier Conference semifinals. The Bulldogs will host Rocky Mountain College in Dillon on Saturday.
