DILLON — The Montana Western women’s basketball team suffered its second-largest loss of the season to Providence in early January. The Bulldogs didn’t forget and held a double-digit lead for the majority of the game in a 68-55 win over the Lady Argos on Saturday.

The conference’s two leading scorers, Providence’s Stephanie McDonagh and Western’s Brianna King, both had their talents on display, but King won the scoring battle 22-17. The Bulldogs’ Cierra Lamey led all scorers with 23 points.

Western has now won nine games in a row, improving to 20-6 on the season and 10-4 in Frontier Conference play. Providence is on a four-game losing streak, falling to 16-9 on the year and 7-7 in the conference.
