University of Providence wrestler Shonn Roberts named NAIA national wrestler of week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Shonn Roberts of Providence (Mont.) has been named the NAIA National Wrestler of the Week, announced Wednesday by the national office. He was chosen based on his performances from January 29 – February 4.

• In a dual against then-No. 14 Embry-Riddle (Ariz.), Roberts defeated then-No. 7 James Williams at 157 pounds to help the Argo’s to a 22-20 victory.
• The sophomore, who typically wrestles at 149 pounds, trailed for most of the match, however, Roberts converted a takedown into a pin with only four seconds left on the clock to earn the win.
