Chuck Morrell, Montana Tech football add more recruits

BUTTE — Montana Tech head football coach Chuck Morrell announced additional recruits for next fall. The recruiting class of 2018 is complete with this group.

“We are excited to finish out our class with some excellent skill players. These student-athletes are all high character young men and great fits in our program.”

The current group is mostly skill positions. The Orediggers added speed on both sides of the ball and potential playmakers.

The list includes a couple of instate signees and student-athletes from California, Idaho, Texas and Washington.

“These newest signees round out a great recruiting class for us this year.”

High School: Attended high school at Timberline HS. Selected All-League and League MVP at defensive back. Selected All-Area and All-State. Named Olympian Player of the Year. Member of the National Honors Society.

Personal: Michael, son of Shannon and John, plans on pursuing a degree in Petroleum Engineering.

Caleb Beggerly RB/LB 5-11 215 Kingston, Idaho Coeur d’Alene HS

High School: Attended high school at Coeur d’Alene HS. Selected All-League and All-North Idaho as a junior. Named Inland Empire League MVP as a senior. Selected first team All-State. Rushed for 758 yards and 13 touchdowns averaging 8.3 yards per carry as senior. Totaled 94 tackles (62 solo, 32 assisted) as a senior and 199 for his career.

Personal: Caleb is the son of Jamie and Josh.

James Green WR 5-11 175 Cathedral City, Calif. Cathedral City HS

High School: Attended high school at Cathedral City HS. Selected second team Desert Valley League as a defensive back as a sophomore. Selected first team DVL as a junior. Selected first team DVL at wide receiver and defensive back as a senior. Selected first team All Desert Sun. Finished first in long jump in track and field in the DVL.

Personal: James is the son of Lisa Mullen.

Treshon Pickett WR/DB 6-1 190 Round Rock, Tex. Stony Point HS

High School: Attended high school at Stony Point HS. Selected All-District as a wide receiver and defensive back.

Personal: Treshon, son of Shontell Pickett, plans on pursuing a degree in Applied Health Sciences.

High School: Attended high school at Arlee HS. Selected second team All-Conference at defensive end and wide receiver as a junior. Selected first team All-Conference at offensive guard as a senior. Selected second team All-Conference and All-State at defensive end as a senior.

Personal: George, son of Mary and Lance, plans on pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering.

Jordan Washington DB 6-0 175 Torrance, Calif. Cathedral HS

High School: Attended high school at Cathedral HS. Voted best defensive back. Finished first in 100m dash in 10.9 seconds.

Personal: Jordan, son of Leone Sierra Goodrum, plans on pursuing a degree in Professional Technical Communications.

Rylan Wilcox TE/DE 6-4 205 Missoula, Mont. Big Sky HS

High School: Attended high school at Big Sky HS. Selected All-Conference and honorable mention All-State at defensive end. Member of Health Science Academy.

Personal: Rylan, son of Heather and Andy, plans on pursuing a degree in Engineering.

Gabriel Zanetti DL 6-0 215 Hayden, Idaho Coeur d’Alene HS

High School: Attended high school at Coeur d’Alene HS. Selected first team All-League on offensive line.

Personal: Gabriel, son of Rebecca and Anthony, plans on pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering.
