Colstrip’s Valdez signs with Rocky Mountain College volleyball

BILLINGS – Rocky Mountain College volleyball head coach Laurie Kelly has announced the signing of student-athlete Addy Valdez to a National Letter-of-Intent to become part of the Rocky Mountain Volleyball program for the 2018 season.

Valdez, a 5-foot-6 libero from Colstrip, Mont., had a stellar career at Colstrip High School where she competed in volleyball and softball .She is a two-time volleyball all-conference selection, receiving all-state honors and 2nd team honors. She is also a 3-year letter winner in softball and served as team captain.

Valdez has set school and MHSA records defensively, tying the MHSA record for most digs recorded in a match with 46 and she is ninth overall for digs per match.

“Addy will be a great fit for Rocky. She has spent a lot of extra time on the volleyball court between camps and club volleyball. She is an excellent student and the valedictorian of her class. Her drive on the court and in the classroom will be a fun combination to coach,” Kelly said of Valdez.

Valdez is the daughter of Carrie and Dan Valdez from Colstrip.
