Rocky Mountain College runners named track athletes of the week

WHITEFISH — Rocky Mountain College athletes Isaac Petsch and Rita Marshall earned Frontier Conference indoor track and field honors, the league announced Monday.

Petsch, a sophomore from Billings, was named the men’s indoor track athlete of the week. At the Alumni Mile, Petsch finished fourth out of 19 entrants with a time of 4 minutes, 21.97 seconds. The altitude-adjusted time of 4:18.41 meets the NAIA ‘A’ qualifying standard and is the second-fastest time in the NAIA this season.

Marshall, a freshman from Gold Coast, Australia, was named the women’s indoor track athlete of the week. She competed in the 800-meter run and 1,600-meter relay at the Alumni Meet. Marshall posted an altitude-adjusted time of 2:37.99 in the 800 and an altitude-adjusted mark of 1:04.25 on her leg of the relay.
