KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Rocky Mountain College women’s basketball team jumped to the No. 18 position in the 2017-18 NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the national office announced on Tuesday.

The ranking is the highest mark in school history as it’s just the fifth time the Battlin’ Bears have appeared in the national poll in school history. Rocky received 95 points to move into the top 25 for the first time this season.

Rocky was last ranked in the NAIA Coaches’ Poll on January 5, 2016. The previous best ranking was No. 20 in the poll from December 8, 2015.

Rocky is 14-2 overall this season and the .875 winning percentage is tied for seventh-best in the NAIA this season. The Battlin’ Bears are 4-2 in Frontier Conference play to sit in third-place and just one-game out of first.

The Battlin’ Bears are on the road for the next four games, including a game at No. 23 Lewis-Clark State on Thursday in Lewiston, Idaho.
