No. 2 Carroll men’s basketball ready to host No. 16 UM Western Thursday night

HELENA — The Montana Western basketball teams will be in the Queen City Thursday taking on Carroll College in a huge early-season Frontier Conference showdown.

After being the preseason pick to win the conference, the Bulldogs are coming into Carroll ranked 16th in the nation. But the Saints are having a historic year, currently sitting undefeated and ranked second in the country. Head coach Carson Cunningham is not letting this poll position trick his team into thinking they already have Thursday’s game won.

“We truly try to focus on our next game,” said Cunningham. “We didn’t know we’d be 14-0. We’re certainly grateful and happy about that, but we’re also fully aware that this conference is chock-full of mighty challenges, so we’ll look at this one Thursday and go to the next one. Obviously Dom Robinson is super dynamic, but they have a lot of guys that can score. They’re physical, just tough to deal with it will be another battle royale.”
