University of Providence women No. 8 in NAIA wrestling poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The University of Providence women's wrestling program is ranked No. 8 in the latest edition of the NAIA top 25 coaches' poll, which was released on Thursday.

The Argos held steady from the initial poll of the 2019-20 season, which saw them begin the year eighth.

Iverly Navarro is ranked No. 2 in the 101-pound weight class, while Yurie Yoneoka is third a class higher at 109. Tatum Sparks sits No. 2 at 155 pounds to round out the top-three honorees for the Argos.

Lana Hunt (15th at 109), Alina Kinsey (16th at 116), Jenna Awana (No. 8 at 136), Gabrielle Hernandez (15th at 136), Maria Elena Enriquez (16th at 155), Ivory Ayers (No. 6 at 170), Anastasia Rose Hardin (No. 9 at 170) and Christine Marques (15th at 191) are also ranked for UP.

Former Helena athlete Alyssa Schrull sits No. 4 in the 170-pound weight class. Schrull wrestles for the University of Jamestown.
