GREAT FALLS -- The University of Providence now has a date for its annual scholarship golf tournament.

The event, which raises money for Argo athletic programs, will be held on Aug. 29 at Eagle Falls Golf Course.

Four-person teams will compete for various prizes, with the winning team earning $1,500. Second- and third-place teams will receive $650 and $350, respectively.

Other prizes will be given for competitions such as longest drive, closest to the pin, longest made putt and more.

The tournament will cost $650 per team, with the money raised benefiting scholarships for University of Providence student-athletes.

"The University of Providence scholarship tournament is very important as we raise money for all our student-athlete programs here at the university," said assistant athletic director Jim Sargent. "We would like to thank Stockman Bank for being our major tournament sponsor. They have been long-time supporters to college sports, and we thank them for being partners of ours."

"We all know the cost of education is expensive, but if we can provide scholarships to help with expenses, it's a win-win for everyone," added Sargent.
