BUTTE — Kyra Oakland leveled 19 kills as the Rocky Mountain College volleyball team beat Montana Tech in four sets 26-24, 25-17, 22-25, 26-24 on Friday evening at the HPER Complex in Butte in the first match of a Frontier Conference doubleheader.

The Battlin' Bears jumped to a 2-0 set lead before Tech rallied for the third-set win. Rocky then won the fourth set in extra points.

Morgan Allen added 12 kills for the Battlin' Bears, who improved to 11-1 on the season and 3-0 against the Orediggers after opening the season with a sweep of Tech. Ayla Embry led Rocky's defense with 30 digs.

Tech (4-7) was led by 23 kills from senior Karina Mickelson and 18 from Maureen Jessop. Hannah Oggerino had 23 digs.

The Oredigers and Battlin' Bears conclude their doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m.
