WHITEFISH -- Rocky Mountain College's Markaela Francis was named the Frontier Conference women's basketball player of the week, the league announced on Monday.

Francis led the Battlin' Bears to a pair of wins over the weekend at the 2019 Hampton Innn Green and Gold Classic -- a 95-46 win over Bethesda College on Friday and an 88-55 victory against Mount Royal University on Saturday. She scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds in Friday's win, then added a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds on Saturday.

Francis crossed the 1,000-point threshold in Saturday's win, finishing the night with 1,006 career points.

This marks the second player of the week honor for Francis during the 2019-20 basketball season.

Rocky returns to the court on Monday, Jan. 6 against Yellowstone Christian College. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Billings Shrine Auditorium. Conference play resumes for the Battlin' Bears on Jan. 9 against Montana Tech.
