Rocky Mountain College women finish 2nd at Carroll Invite

HELENA - The Rocky Mountain College Battlin' Bears finished second at the Carroll College Fighting Saints Classic Tuesday with a two-round total score of 647.

The Battlin' Bears were led by Hailey Derrickson, the current Frontier Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, who finished in fourth. The freshman shot 12-over-par 156 with rounds of 79 and 77.

Freshman Claire Wright shot 19-over-par 163 to tie in eighth with Lewis-Clark State's Megan Gibson.

Kaelyn Volk took 11th with a total score of 166 while Morgan O'Neil tied for 12th with a two-day total of 167.

Kaitlyn Fleming finished the tournament with a total score of 168. Her second round score of 76 was the lowest round of the event for the Battlin' Bears.

The Battlin' Bears shot 79 pars and 13 birdies.

Lewis-Clark State took first in the event with a team score of 616. The Warriors had the top three finishers in Madilyn Brown, Alexandra Schmidt, and Lauren Hamm.
