KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Rocky Mountain College was honored as a Gold Level 2018-19 Champions of Character Five-Star Institution by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) on Tuesday.

The Battlin' Bears were among only 65 schools to receive the highest ranking as a Gold Level institution. 180 NAIA colleges and universities earned either Gold, Silver, or Bronze recognition.

“On behalf of the Battlin’ Bears' athletics department, we commend the efforts of our student-athletes and coaches who epitomized what small college athletics is all about," said Jeff Malby, Rocky Mountain College's Director of Athletics. "We shined in the classroom, throughout the various competitive events as well as making the time to serve our community. This award caps off an amazing 2018-19 academic year at Rocky Mountain College.”

Honorees are ranked by status based on how well an NAIA institution performed in the pursuit of character-driven athletics.
