KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Despite a 1-1 week in the Cascade Collegiate Conference schedule, the Rocky Mountain College men's soccer team dropped out of the NAIA coaches' poll this week. The fourth poll of the season was released on Wednesday.
Rocky (4-3 overall, 3-1 CCC) dropped a 2-0 contest at Northwest University on Friday, but bounced back with a 1-0 victory over the Evergreen State College Geoducks Sunday. The split wasn't good enough to keep the Battlin' Bears in the NAIA top 25, which saw a major shakeup this week.
Only two teams -- No. 1 Central Methodist (Mo.) and No. 15 Madonna (Mich.) -- held their rankings from last week's poll. William Penn (Iowa) had the largest climb, going from unranked a week ago to No. 16 on Wednesday. Missouri Valley suffered the week's largest dive, going from No. 3 to 18th.
Rocky was one of two CCC clubs to receive votes, as Corban University (Ore.) earned 79 total points and is just outside the top 25. The Battlin' Bears had 13 points in this week's poll. Rocky hosts Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon this weekend in Billings.
Two Cascade Conference women's teams -- Eastern Oregon (No. 6) and Southern Oregon (No. 23) -- were ranked in the women's NAIA poll. Northwest University (Wash.) received votes.
