GREAT FALLS – The University of Providence men's hockey program announced the signing of Ty Alger Monday afternoon.

Alger joins the program from Central Memorial High School in Calgary, Alberta. He led the Heritage Junior Hockey League in assists (75), was second in points (75) and is a two-time HJHL All-Star.

"Ty is a great addition to our program," University of Providence head coach Jeff Heimel said. "We expect that his presence will be felt immediately and that he will add a ton of depth for us at the forward position this coming spring."

Alger plans to study sports management at Providence.
