CORVALLIS, Ore. -- No. 20-ranked MSU-Northern’s Chase Short was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference's Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital men’s wrestler of the week.
Short, the No. 19-ranked 174-pound senior grappler from Great Falls, had a solid weekend for the Lights, going 4-0. He started his week with a 14-5 major decision over the University of Providence's Bridger Hall on Thursday. He finished the week with a 3-0 showing at the DSU Quad Duals in Dickinson, N.D. on Saturday.
Short had three tech falls on Saturday as the Lights went 3-0 against Dickinson State, Dakota Wesleyan and Jamestown. Short got an 18-3 tech fall in 5:41 over DSU's Caden Haugen, an 18-2 tech fall in 5:15 over DWU's Cole Halouska and an 18-2 tech fall in 3:30 over Jamestown's Noah Braun.
