MSU-Northern men, women stay unbeaten with sweep of Montana Western

HAVRE — The MSU-Northern women's and men's basketball teams continued their hot starts to the 2019-20 seasons with wins over Montana Western on Thursday night in the Frontier Conference openers for both schools.

The No. 14 Northern women won 58-51 behind 18 points and eight rebounds from Tiara Gilham. Peyton Kehr added 14 points and four assists for the Skylights, who improved to 8-0. Paige Holmes and Gracey Meyer each had nine points for the Bulldogs. Western fell to 6-3.

The No. 17 Northern men survived a second-half run from the Bulldogs with a 67-65 win. Kavon Bey led the way with 17 points and seven rebounds, while Gio Jackson added 13 points. The Lights moved to 6-0, while Western fell to 5-4.
