Montana Western's Jon Jund named Frontier Conference offensive player of the week

University of Montana Western quarterback Jon Jund was named Frontier Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Jund is a 5-foot-11, 200-pound sophomore quarterback from Spring Creek, Nevada. In No.19 Montana Western's 49-13 home conference win over Eastern Oregon, Jund was 22-of-30 passing for 378 yards, with four passing touchdowns and one interception against a Mountaineers defense that had only allowed a total of 545 passing yards in three conference games this season. He also rushed for 31 yards and one touchdown on six carries.

This is the first time this season and second in his career that Jund has won the award.

College of Idaho linebacker Danny Garcia (10 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 3.5 tackles-for-loss) was named the league's defensive player of the week, while teammate Kyle Mitchell (6-6 on PAT attempts, extending streak to 51 consecutive makes) earned special teams player of the week.
