Montana Western's Jenni Weber named Frontier Conference women's basketball layer of the week

WHITEFISH -- Jenni Weber of Montana Western was named the Frontier Conference's Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Weber is a 5-foot-9 freshman guard from Elburn, Ill. Montana Western went 1-1 for the weekend with a 117-35 win over Yellowstone Christian College (YCC) and a 56-60 loss to Northwest Nazarene University (NCAA, Div. II). Weber averaged 23 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, one block and one steal for the weekend. She was 16 of 31 from the field (51.6 percent) and 13 of 26, 3-point field goals. Weber tied a school record with eight 3-point field goals against YCC.

Weber is leading the nation in 3-point field goals (23) and is second in the nation in scoring (73 points). This is the first time she has won the award.
