Montana Western, Carroll College lead Frontier Conference teams in NAIA women's basketball rankings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Montana Western leads four Frontier Conference teams in the NAIA Division I women's basketball coaches' poll. The latest top 25 was released Wednesday.

The reigning national champion Bulldogs moved up to No. 17 to overtake Carroll College as the highest-ranked Frontier team in the poll. The Fighting Saints are 18th. Lewis-Clark State is 21st and Rocky Mountain College is 24th. Providence also received votes, finishing just outside the top 25.

With just two games each remaining in conference play, Western and Carroll are tied atop the league standings. Western (18-9 overall, 11-5 Frontier Conference) hosts Montana Tech on Thursday and Lewis-Clark State on Saturday, while Carroll (19-9, 11-5) closes with home games against Providence on Thursday and Montana State-Northern on Saturday.

The Frontier Conference playoffs are scheduled to start March 4.

Oklahoma City received all nine first-place votes to maintain the No. 1 ranking in the national poll. Campbellsville (Ky.), Westmont (Calif.), The Master's (Calif.) and Wayland Baptist (Texas) round out the top five. The entire poll is below.
