WHITEFISH -- Taylor England of Montana Tech and Dani Wagner of Carroll College have been named the Frontier Conference men's and women's basketball players of the week, the league announced Monday.

England, a 6-foot-7 senior from Helena, led the Orediggers (0-2) with 22 points, 10 rebounds and two assists in their 79-70 loss to No. 8 College of Idaho. England was 4-of-8 shooting and made 14 and 15 free throw attempts.

Montana Tech announced Monday it is pausing men's basketball activities for at least two weeks.

Wagner, a 5-9 senior from Havre, helped No. 20 Carroll win two games at its Thanksgiving Classic tournament. The Fighting Saints defeated Valley City State (N.D.) 69-32 and Lewis-Clark State 99-48. Wagner averaged 15.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and one steal per game. She was 11 of 19 (58 percent) from the field and 3 of 5 from the free throw line. Against Lewis-Clark, Wager hit 6 of 8 3-point field goals for a career-best in a single game.

Carroll (5-0) is next scheduled to play on Dec. 12 against Rocky Mountain College. The Saints had a scheduled exhibition game against Oregon State canceled and their Frontier Conference-opening games at Montana Tech, originally scheduled for Dec. 5 and 6, postponed.
