WHITEFISH -- Montana Tech will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Frontier Conference volleyball tournament. The league's postseason seeding was released on Sunday, after teams finished their regular-season contests over the weekend.

Montana Tech and the University of Providence actually shared the regular-season title, with each program finishing with a 9-3 Frontier Conference mark. But the league's tie-breaking procedure favored the Orediggers, which captured a third conference title in eight years under coach Brian Solomon. Montana Tech capped the regular season with five consecutive league victories.

With the No. 1 seed in the tournament, the Orediggers receive a bye in the opening round, which will begin Friday at the University of Providence's McLaughlin Center. Tech will face the lowest-remaining seed in the second round on Saturday.

The host Argos enter as the No. 2-seeded club, and will host MSU-Northern on Friday. Other first round matches will see third-seeded Rocky Mountain College face Montana Western, while Carroll and Lewis-Clark State also square off. The Warriors were in position to win the regular-season title, but dropped games to Carroll and Tech this weekend to fall to the No. 4 seed.

The schedule and first-round pairings for the 2019 Frontier Conference volleyball tournament can be found below.
