KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Losses dropped both the Montana Tech and Montana Western football programs, albeit slight drops, in the latest NAIA football coaches' poll this week.
Montana Tech (4-2) fell one spot to No. 20 after a 16-14 defeat at the College of Idaho. The Yotes earned the thrilling win on Kyle Mitchell's 58-yard game-winning field goal as time expired. C of I (6-0) climbed one position to No. 7 after the win.
Montana Western suffered its second loss in as many weeks, dropping a 33-29 contest at Carroll College. The Saints rallied from a 20-6 deficit, taking the lead in the final minute. Western's final heave at the end zone landed incomplete to drop the Bulldogs to 4-2 on the season.
Western fell 35-12 at Montana Tech last weekend. The Orediggers host Eastern Oregon this weekend, while the Bulldogs play host to MSU-Northern. The Frontier Conference scoreboard can be found by clicking here. Updated standings in the league can be viewed by clicking here.
Morningside (Iowa) remains the unanimous No. 1 in the poll, which is voted on by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences across the country. The Mustangs hold the longest active streak with 156 consecutive top-25 rankings.
