Montana Tech men's basketball cruises past Walla Walla

HELENA -- The Montana Tech men's basketball team ended their holiday break with a 20-point victory over Walla Walla on Friday afternoon at Carroll's Holiday Classic, 84-64.

The Orediggers (5-5) jumped ahead of the Wolves 46-36 in the first half. Montana Tech, which forced Walla Walla into 24 turnovers and limited them to just 37.7% shooting from the floor, shot 42.6% from the floor.

Montana Tech was led in scoring by Derrius Collins who had 17 points on 7-for-14 shooting and Sindou Diallo who scored 16. Troy Owens Jr. added 14, Taylor England scored 12, and Dylan Pannabecker scored 10.

Walla Walla's KiAndre Gaddy scored 27 points on 21 shots for the Wolves.

Montana Tech takes on Southern Alberta Institute of Technology on Saturday at 5 p.m.
