Mollie Peoples, David Harris collect Frontier Conference weekly accolades

WHITEFISH -- Montana Tech's Mollie Peoples and Montana State University-Northern's David Harris were named Frontier Conference basketball players of the week, the league announced on Monday.

Peoples, a 5-foot-8 senior from Butte, helped Tech earn a weekend split against rival Montana Western. In the Orediggers' 69-57 road win over the Bulldogs on Saturday, Peoples had 15 points, four rebounds and an assist. She improved those totals the following afternoon, scoring 26 points to go with five rebounds, two assists and two steals, though Tech fell to Western 82-67.

During the two games, Peoples averaged 20.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and two steals. She connected on 14 of 23 field goals (62 percent) and hit 13 3-pointers, eight of those coming Sunday afternoon.

Also nominated, in alphabetical order: Brynley Fitzgerald (Montana Western) and Allix Goldhahn (MSU-Northern).

Harris won the men's weekly honor after scoring 23 points and snagging four rebounds in MSUN's 86-64 season-opening win against Yellowstone Christian College. Harris made 8 of 15 field goals, knocking down a pair of 3s, and hit all five of his free throw attempts.

Harris is a 6-foot-4 senior guard from Tacoma, Wash.

No other players were nominated as no other men's Frontier Conference programs participated over the weekend.
