GREAT FALLS – The University of Providence wrestling program announced the signing of KJ Swanson Thursday afternoon. Swanson will join his younger brother Dougie Swanson, who signed with the Argos earlier this spring.

Swanson, originally from Big Sky High School in Missoula, is transferring to Providence after spending his freshman year at Montana State. At Big Sky, he competed in football, rugby and track alongside wrestling. He accumulated a 32-3 record as a senior as a wrestler.

"KJ is a very talented young man with a great deal of experience," head coach Steve Komac said. "We feel KJ will have an opportunity to step into the lineup immediately and make an impact. He has the unique ability as an upper-weight wrestler to adjust his style as he is skilled in several areas and can create many challenges for his opponents. We are excited to add another high-quality Montana wrestler to our program at U.P. and we look forward to working with K.J."

Swanson plans to study elementary education at Providence.
