GREAT FALLS -- The University of Providence men's wrestling team added another member to its roster by signing Payton Hume.

Hume is a very accomplished high school wrestler from Kalispell, winning a Montana state championship in the 2018 season for the Flathead Braves. Hume was a four-sport athlete in high school, participating in golf, tennis, football and wrestling.

Hume will be transferring from the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D., and will be a redshirt sophomore for the Argos in the coming year. He plans on getting a degree in physical education at the University of Providence.

"Payton is an excellent student-athlete, and we are very excited to have him joining us at the University of Providence," head coach Steve Komac said. "Payton is very athletic and a great competitor who is equally successful in the classroom. Payton is going to be a great addition to our program."
