Daniella Russell selected to CoSIDA All-District 1st team

BILLINGS – Rocky Mountain College's Daniella Russell was selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® First Team as announced by the organization on Thursday.

The 2019 Academic All-District® Volleyball teams are nominated and voted on by members of CoSIDA and recognize the nation's top student-athletes across the NCAA and NAIA for their combined performances in athletics and academics.The teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada with Russell selected to the NAIA's District 4.

The senior from Red Lodge, Montana has led the Battlin' Bears in scoring this season with 322 kills while recording 176 digs and 51 total blocks. During last week's match against the University of Providence, Russell recorded her 1,000th career kill. Russell's 1,005 career kills over the course of her four year career as a Battlin' Bear ranks as the fourth most in school history according to available school records.

Russell was selected as a second team all-conference outside hitter last season. She is a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete and two time academic all-conference student-athlete.

Having been selected to an Academic All-District® First Team, Russell is now an eligible nominee for the CoSIDA Academic All-America® team .
