HELENA -- Carroll College senior guard Dane Warp was selected as a CoSIDA academic all-district award winner.

The 2020 academic all-district basketball teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

First-team academic all-district honorees advance to the CoSIDA academic all-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if applicable) academic all-America® honorees will be announced between March 9-12.

Warp is currently No. 15 on the Carroll College all-time men's scoring list. He was voted preseason Frontier Conference player of the year and currently leads the 19-8 Fighting Saints in scoring at 18.2 points per game. He juggles his prowess on the court with a dedication to the classroom as he pursues a degree in biochemistry/molecular biology.

Warp was just one of six student-athletes selected from a district that includes Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wyoming and Canada.

Votes by members of CoSIDA propelled him to the honor and will determine if he becomes an academic all-American.
