HELENA -- The No. 25-ranked Carroll College Fighting Saints football team looks to continue its ascension next season as it released its 2020 schedule on Thursday.

The Saints will have another challenging Frontier Conference slate, with home games against Montana Western, Southern Oregon, The College of Idaho, Rocky Mountain College and Eastern Oregon. On the road, the Saints will visit Montana Tech, EOU, Montana State-Northern, SOU and COI.

"The 2020 football schedule shows very competitive games," Saints coach Troy Purcell said. "That is Frontier Conference football. We will need to be at our best each week."

The Saints open the season against Montana Western at home and close the season with consecutive road games at Southern Oregon and College of Idaho.

It will be the second year at the helm for coach Purcell, who capped off a 6-4 campaign in his inaugural season at his alma mater. The Saints were ranked No. 25 in the final NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll of the 2019 season and are riding that wave of momentum on the recruiting trails.

"We're excited to get into the 2020 football season," Purcell said. "The team is working hard during winter conditioning and excited to get better individually and as a team. Players are stepping up as leaders and the team wants 2020 season to be one to remember. It's one rep at a time."
