GREAT FALLS — Frontier Conference volleyball is back. The University of Providence program begins its COVID season this weekend with matches at Carroll College.

The Argos will finally get the chance to defend their Frontier tournament championship run from the fall of 2019.

But to do it, they’ll have to adjust on the fly to a different type of schedule. Frontier volleyball matches will take place as weekend double-headers for a total of 20 conference games. The conference tournament runs from April 6 to April 10.

"I think it was tough for us not being on campus in the fall and not having that time to gel together as a team," Duda said. "But I certainly don't think anyone's gonna feel sorry for us, especially when we take the court."

The Argos have 10 new players on the team, but familiar faces like Ember Schwindt, Jensyn Turner and Cydney Finberg-Roberts should help keep things steady for head coach Arunas Duda.

"We’ve got a lot of work to do. With 10 new players, we’ve been teaching a lot in practice. It’s going to take some time for us to be playing our best volleyball."
