After 10 days off, Providence women break out against MSU-Northern

GREAT FALLS — Parker Esary recorded a double-double and Emilee Maldonado scored 18 points as the Providence women's basketball team defeated MSU-Northern 73-57 on Wednesday.

The game was the first in 10 days for the Argo women, who had games against Rocky Mountain College canceled last weekend due to COVID-19 protocols. Providence raced out to a 20-5 lead at the end of the first quarter. MSUN closed the gap to 32-20 at halftime, but Providence never allowed the Skylights to get close in the second half.

Esary scored 23 points and secured 12 rebounds and Maldonado recorded seven assists. Providence moves to 3-2.

Freshman L'Tia Lawrence led MSUN with 15 points. Tiara Gilham scored 13 points, while Ryley Kehr added 10. Northern falls to 2-9 (1-6) on the season.
