DILLON — The annual Digger-Dawg rivalry between 22nd-ranked Montana Tech and 15th-ranked Montana Western kicks off from Bob Green Field in Butte Saturday night at 6 p.m.

For the Bulldogs, it will be one of their toughest road tests of the season. The teams' combined record is 7-1, so fans can expect another epic chapter in the historic rivalry.

Montana Western head coach Ryan Nourse says he wants his Bulldogs to continue to play at a high physical level like they have all season. Establishing their identity as a smash-mouth, physical team on both sides of the ball will be key for their success. And a big factor in that so far has been running back Kyler Prante and the way he's controlled the Bulldog backfield.

“That’s really what Bulldog football has been about," Nourse said. "What we’ve been really working hard to get back to is just relentless defense and a physical run game and vertical pass game. Those are the core of what we do.”

“I think the minute I came here I always wanted to be the back that the coaches looked to and said, 'Alright. Hey, it’s third-and-1, who we are going to look to?'" said Prante. "And I always wanted to be the guy they looked to and say, 'Hey, look at Kyler. He’s going to get us this 1 yard.”

Montana Western (4-0) and Montana Tech (3-1) kick off at 6 p.m. Saturday. Scores from around the Frontier Conference can be followed here.
