ST. GEORGE, Utah — No. 1-ranked and reigning FCS national champion Montana State kicked off its title defense against Utah Tech inside Greater Zion Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 29.
It was the Trailblazers' first game as a Big Sky member, as the program joined the league prior to the 2026 season. The Bobcats won the conference last year.
