Wyoming Cowboys aim to snap 4-game losing streak Monday

LARAMIE, Wyo. - The Wyoming Cowboys close out their season series with the Air Force Falcons on Monday evening at 7 p.m. in Clune Arena in Colorado Springs, Colo. It will mark the 121st meeting all-time between the two schools.

Fans can watch and listen to the contest, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com. The contest will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network, as Jonathan Schillace will have the call with Kevin McKinney on color.

Notes From the Opener

Wyoming was led in scoring by freshman Marcus Williams with 15 points. He has scored in double-figures in every game this season. He has scored 15 or more points in eight games this season.

Junior Hunter Maldonado added 14 points for his 50th career game in double-figures, as it comes in his hometown. He is now 42 points away from 1,000 for his career.

Junior Hunter Thompson added nine rebounds for the Cowboys. It was a season high and the most by Thompson since grabbing a career-high 10 rebounds against Detroit Mercy Nov. 19 , 2019.

Freshman Xavier DuSell added 13 points for his fourth game in double-figures this season. He has scored in double-figures in two of the last three games and is averaging 10 points per game in his last three games.

The Cowboys and Falcons each shot 53 percent from the field for the contest. It was a season-high shooting for the Pokes.

The Pokes recorded a season-high 15 turnovers on Saturday. Wyoming averages 10.6 per game for the season, which leads the conference and ranks No. 21 in the nation.

Wyoming was 10-of-27 from behind the arc with Air Force going 8-of-20 for the night.

Wyoming held a 33-24 lead on the glass for the game with both teams scoring 34 points in the paint.

About The Series

Wyoming leads the all-time series against the Falcons 79-41 in a series that dates back to 1958. Wyoming is 33-23 on the road against the Falcons including a 78-72 win last season on Feb. 22.
