BILLINGS - The Montana State University Billings Yellowjackets defeated the Adams State University Grizzles 95-81 Saturday night in Alterowitz. MSUB Hosted ASU in back–to-back games and earned a two game sweep over the Grizzles.

The Yellowjackets (4-2, 0-0 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) trailed ASU (3-4, 0-0 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) at half time for the second night in a row, 41-38.

MSUB would outscore ASU 57-40 in the second half on route to the 95-81 victory. MSUB would be down by as much as nine in the second half, 63-54 but used an 11-2 run to tie the game at 65 with 10:55 left.

From that point on, MSUB would never trail again in a game that featured three leads changes and the ‘Jackets led by as many as 20 points in the second half.

“We had a barrage of three going in the second half, “commented head coach Mick Durham. “We went back to that smaller line up again and that group played well. We were a little sloppy in the first half but tightened up in the second half and got things going.”

For the second night in a row, MSUB’s defense would led to offensive production as the ‘Jackets force 14 Grizzly turnovers and held them tot 2-15 from three point range.

Brendan Howard produced 27 points and 10 rebounds in route to his second double-double in a row and third on the season. The GNAC’s reigning freshman of the year had two double-doubles all last season.

Tyler Green also had 27 points in the game following his 28 point performance from the night before.

Stevie James had 12 points off the bench, Chrishon Dixon finished with 1 points and Psalm Maduakor led all players with six assists.

Kaelin Crane led the Grizzles with 20 points while Ricky Norris and Juwan Green each had 16 points.

WHAT’S AHEAD: The Yellowjackets take a quick dive into GNAC play with two roads games against Western Washington University and Simon Fraser University next week. MSUB’s next home game will be against Rocky Mountain College on December 13 for EMC throwback night.
