BISMARCK, N.D. -- The Miles Community College volleyball program's season came to an abrupt halt on Saturday as the Pioneers fell in straight sets to the eventual Region XIII champion Bismarck State.

Bismarck State put its home-court advantage to good use, as it dominated from start to finish on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneer efforts were led by sophomores Samantha Bonenberger and Hailee Kuske. Bonenberger had 26 assists and Kuske seven kills in their last match for the Pioneers. Freshman Saige Diegel led the team with 10 digs.

The match was also the final time in a Pioneer uniform for Taylor Stahl, Briley Cook and Uluwehi Brooks.

The Pioneers have improved in each of the first three seasons under coach Chase Soennichsen, and have a solid core of freshmen returning for the 2020 season.
