Lexi Begger rejoins Dawson Community College as volleyball assistant

GLENDIVE - Dawson Community College has hired former player Alexis (Lexi) Begger as an assistant volleyball coach, the school announced.

Begger played at DCC during the 2017 and 2018 seasons. She was an All-Conference, All-Region, and Academic All-Conference award winner during her time at DCC. Upon graduating from Dawson in May of 2019, Begger transferred to Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD for her final year of playing volleyball. She earned Second-Team All-Conference honors in the North Star Athletic Association. She finishing up a Bachelors' Degree in Business from Presentation College.

Begger says she's thrilled to rejoin her alma mater.

"It is such a blessing to be able to come home and use my past experiences to aid Coach (Dina) Fritz and DCC Volleyball," she said. "I owe a large part of my personal successes to Coach Fritz for giving me a chance and pushing me to become a better player. I want to thank everyone that aided in the hiring process for choosing me and giving me this opportunity! I am truly blessed to be a part of the Buccaneer family again."

"I am excited to have Lexi back at DCC," said Fritz. "She will bring experience and a great energy to the team. With her background, I know she will be able to come in and make an impact right away in the program."
