MILES CITY -- Amber Countryman from Helena High has signed a Letter of Intent to play softball at Miles Community College.

Countryman is a catcher that was selected as the Bengals' offensive player of the year as a sophomore. She was a Western AA all-conference selection and played in the Memorial Classic Tournament, which showcases some of Montana's best softball players. Countryman also carries a 4.0 grade-point average at Helena High and is a person of high standards and values, according to Pioneer head coach Shawna Juarez.

"She fits into the mold of our program and we feel that Amber will thrive as a Pioneer," Juarez said.

"I chose Miles CC because of the enthusiasm both the players and coaches have for the game of softball and for each other," Countryman said.
